In Dubai and across the UAE, gratuity is calculated based on your basic salary and total years of service.
Calculate your end-of-service benefits using the most recent gratuity guidelines issued under the UAE Labour Law 2025.
If You Worked Less Than 5 Years
Formula:
Gratuity = (Basic Salary ÷ 30) × 21 × Years of Service
If You Worked More Than 5 Years
Formula:
Gratuity = [(Basic Salary ÷ 30) × 21 × 5] + [(Basic Salary ÷ 30) × 30 × Years Beyond 5]
Gratuity is capped at two years’ total salary as per UAE regulations.
Example 1:
Basic Salary: AED 10,000
Duration: 4 Years
Gratuity = (10,000 ÷ 30) × 21 × 4 = AED 28,000
Example 2:
Basic Salary: AED 12,000
Duration: 6 Years
Gratuity = (12,000 ÷ 30 × 21 × 5) + (12,000 ÷ 30 × 30 × 1) = AED 54,000
